At Captain Blacks Fishing we emphasize having a great time with family and friends. Today on the Black Magic we had a special friend drop by for a visit.....Mr Hoo! Wahoo are a prized fish along the Gulf Coast often screaming hundreds of feet of line out during the fight! As well as beeing a great fight these are an extremely great fish to eat especially when cut into steaks and grilled. The fish was hooked up soon after the deckhand put the lure out and took off like a missle. After a great fight the fish was brought boatside and gaffed before pulling it over the rail and into the fish box. Needless to say everyone was excited including the deckhand as this is his first year with us and his first Wahoo!

Meanwhile over on the Lady Black there was a shark trip happening. Upon pulling up and anchoring on the spot Captain Black stated he saw a shark on his fishfinder and didnt think it would be long. Jezebelle, Captain Blacks 80 International Reel was baited up with a 15 pound bonita and sent down. Three minutes later the clicker began to go off speeding up as the shark took line. "Zuke" the deckhand picked up the rod allowing the shark fully take the bait and be in a good run. He then slid the drag lever forwarward increasing the drag and pointed the rod tip toward the shark. As the line became tight he reeled down and raised the rod tip as it bent over with the pressure of the shark moving away. The rod was hand to the angler and the fight was on. 45 minutes the gray shadow appeared below the boat and the captain grabbed the leader allowing video and pics to be taken before releasing the 9 1/2 foot estimated 300 lb Bull shark. The anglers were all exhausted from the fight and all agreed that it was way more than expected
